The very sporadic ever slowing game

Vorgoth pours over the book with wide eyes and a smirk on his face. The words "one of these, couple of those, three or four of these" can be heard by those close at hand. Vorgoth gently elbows Talea and asks "wonder if they have a tunic with the words 'you've got flail' on it?" He laughs briefly and picks through the map section, and stops when he finds the map of Istah. "As i recall this is the one we need is it not?" after showing the page to Paskatoy and Talea.

To Fenrir: Im about to attempt an autohypnosis check to memorize the map, will you allow it or is there anything in the room blocking that skill check?

[At the Arms]

Azoc exits up the staircase.
Dredow engages Namy in a game of dice.

Dio pulls out a deck of cards, "Anyone interested in a game?"

Yet another visitor appears at the bar. He doesn't appear the friendly sort; scars cover his face and his chainmail has a few links chipped and broken away. He quietly takes a seat at the far corner of the room and sits silently. He does not seem interested in anyone or anything currently as he stares downwardly at the table.

[At Marymet's]

Marymet and the old man seem to have made an agreement. The man takes a deep breath and Marymet motions for the bard to come over. Instructions are quietly whispered and the harp player walks past a curtain behind Marymet. He returns shortly with a tightly wrapped bundle which has the appearance of a sword of some sort. The old man produces a pouch and hands it gently over to Marymet. The bard hands over the package and the purchaser turns to Marymet, "Thank you dear lady, it has been a pleasure to do business with you once again." The man walks over to the empty chair and sets his guide down before leaving. He mumbles something under his breath as he does so.

Ghaleon smiles at the offer to play cards, awaking from a slight daze, "Thanks, but fate is fickle with me today, I wouldn't want to use up all my luck just yet." The elf smiles and sits back in his chair, waiting on Talea and Vorgoth.

[At the inn]

"Suit yourself good sir," replies the slightly disappointed rogue.

The weathered warrior looks up,"Is there any service to be had in this establishment?"

His harsh tone appears to have no effect on the rogues' demeanors. "What is it that you seek gladiator?" asks Dio, who now moves toward his former seat.

"Refreshment, fool" declares the hostile guest "and I demand it now".

Dio draws a hidden sword from beneath the bottle strewn table,"Perhaps you will find a bath in your own blood refreshing enough, sorcerer?".

With his illusion revealed the warrior's form warps into that of a blue caped man of significant stature (7ft tall). A staff extends from his palm.

[Inn]
With a quarterstaff in one hand, the towering mage launches 5 clear gems above his head with the other; the small spheres begin to rotate and take colors: red, green, white, gold, and blue. Suddenly, they fire forward and strike at Diomedes, one after another.

Tirumael’s Energy Spheres
10 acid, 12 cold, 11 electric, 15 fire, 9 sonic
Save: Reflex for half (25)
SR: 35

Elemental energies rush the rogue, but he is able to avoid most of the blasts and remains standing. Saves: 21, 27, 32, 15, 27: 25 hp of acid/fire damage. He rounds the table to retaliate.

The blue cloaked man takes a swing as he approaches and clips the half-elf solidly in the side. 40 against AC! 10 points of damage.

Staggered but standing, Diomedes strikes at the sorcerer (E15). 27 against AC. The blow is true but has more sting than bite. 7hp.

Dredow moves towards the back door, attempting to jump the bar. His dexterity; however, is still staggered by drunkenness. He makes it to the other side of the bar but is prone on the floor. He manages to yell, “Bernlin, get out here now. We got trouble.” (A6)

[Tent]
The bard responds to Talea’s earlier question in a coarse whisper, “Marymet states the prices as she pleases. She may haggle but push her and you’ll regret it.”

Vorgoth thinks about the man's comment and wonders if they have enough gold to buy the map. In between thoughts he looks outside the tent and mentally transmits to Valgon "go back to the inn, you'll be safer there."

O.O.C.- mind if i do a listen check to see if i can hear the yelling at Bernlin's inn? if so .........rolls a 14+8 modifier=22 listen check

Ghaleon moves quickly towards the spellcaster, drawing his bow off his back as he does so, taking aim at the mage.

(Move to B12 Readying an action to shoot at the mage if he casts again, +17 attack bonus for 1d8+4 damage)

(Initiative =12)

Paskatoy seems to be waiting for something. When the mage casts a spell, Paskatoy murmers words of magic and waves his arms in a strange manner.

(Readyed action: Dispel Magic to counteract the mage's next spell. Dispel check =25(!))
