Hmm, come to think of it I've never done a pure dungeon crawl in a play-by-post before. Good questions. I wouldn't worry about giving away hints too much, after all this module is all about the encounters, right? One thing that might be trickey - who's going to lead the party? We could nominate a leader, but then everything is hinging on that player and if they don't post for a day or two then everyone else has to wait. How about if the first player to respond gets to choose which direction to go in, which door to open, etc? That should provide some incentive for people to watch the thread often and reply right away! You might want to clearly delineate when there are choices to be made, such as: LEFT: The hallway continues on past your range of vision (60 ft). AHEAD: A large wooden door stands closed. RIGHT: The hallway continues for about 30 ft and ends in solid stone. ACTION? You might also want to set a "time limit" of sorts. If we're in a combat encounter and someone doesn't reply within X days or hours then they take a default action (melee attack against closest opponent, ranged attack, cast offensive spell, etc) and you get to roll for them. Again, incentive to keep up with the game. The same rules apply for roleplay encounters. First player to post gets to have all the fun and interact with the NPC or creature. Others can join in but the "action" won't wait for them. Anyway, there's my two copper pieces. It's almost 2AM. I'm going to bed. PS. Thanks for the masterwork tip. I'll do that in the mornin'. :)
