March 2005! Dang, got my hopes up that this was something good coming in the a lot sooner.

I guess I'm not used to it being 2005, because that sounds so far away. Still, I hope someone bumps this thread when we get closer to air date, so my feeble mind does not forget.

Dragonology

It will more than likely just be a show about some animal that was thought to be a Dragon, but really wasnt.

According to the previews, which look very cool BTW, the show is about how dragons could of been a real creature. Reminds me of that book written long ago about the possibility of dragons existing.

They show dragons with fore-limbs-as-wings (wyvren style) and with seperate forelimbs (traditional style). So they must address the big issue, how could a reptile evolve two new, highly functional limbs like wings. I wonder what their answer is.

The previews also make a big deal out of the universal legend of dragons, as if that is proof. As any student of Campbell knows, there are a lot of universal legends and myths out there, and this is some mysterious function of our pyschology. Carl Jung has said (I believe) it is a hidden memory from our very distant ancestors. Although this implies something incredible, that information can be carried genetically, it does explain a lot. Certainly a dragon looks like an amalgam of a dinosaur and a flying reptile like a pterosaur. If you buy the whole ancestral memory thing, it makes sense.

In any case, I fully intend to watch it.
