Fifth Highlander Scribe Hired?

The Moviehole.net Web site reported a rumor that Dimension Films has hired writer Joel Soisson to draft a new screenplay for a proposed fifth Highlander movie, called Highlander: The Source. Citing anonymous sources, the site reported that Soisson was hired because he got an earlier job to write and direct the forthcoming Prophecy sequels for the studio.
Original Highlander star Christopher Lambert will not be back for this new chapter, which takes things into a new, fresh direction, the site reported. In Highlander: The Source, four new charismatic immortals quest to locate the Holy Grail of their world.

Because people keep paying to see it through movie ticket sales, video sales/rentals, cable TV fees and/or ratings for advertisers.

I heard that the immortals, who will be known as highlanders in this movie regardless of where they come from, will be exploring these attacks where these horrible monsters are killing people. The monsters will actually be the Aliens from Alien, only they'll be immortals who get hit by a powerful curse that turns them into those unstoppable killing machines, and it's going to turn out that it's the Aliens from Predator that are turning the immortals into Aliens in order to hunt them. Then the highlanders will be joined by Lara Croft (who will help Raid a Tomb where the Predators are hiding), Ace Ventura (who is solving a mystery involving the death of the pet ferret of one of the highlanders), and Boba Fett (who is sent to Earth because the highlanders are actually from an alien penal colony, and the people there are afraid that the highlanders might escape) in their fight against the Predators and the Predator queen, played by Beyonce Knowles. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have cameos.

Of course, this is only a rumor. It might end up being a fanboy geekfest desperately attempting to hype itself long after the point where its coolness shrivelled up and died.

I actually kind of liked the last one, with him and Adriene Paul. Sure it was really a long flashback, but it was entertaining.

I would love a 5th movie, but only if it was based strictly on the show and had Adrian Paul. To make it work, then just need to ignore that past movies and bad Star Trek Generations-style crossover with Lambert. The show was great. They need a movie so Mythos (did I spell that right?) can finally win it all.

Who are these people? I swear my soul was marked for seeing number 2! Three I have bits of but no interest in seeing it all, as for the fourth one...nope, not going to watch it, learned from my errors.

Personally, I'd like to see a Highlander movie that shows the death of Duncan MacLeod. After all, Connor MacLeod is the only one ... that is until the second Highlander film screwed THAT up, whether is the sci-fi aspect that shows the origin planet of the immortals (Zeist) shows in theaters, or a supposedly edited "Renegade Edition of Highlander II" on video (removed all element about Zeist, but still does not explain the new immortals).
