Pathfinder 1E These forums need a "Pathfinder" prefix.

Since it looks like most Pathfinder discussion should be in the General RPG Rules Discussion and not this forum, I would disagree.

Also, there has been really few Pathfinder threads so far and usually changes are only made after there is a need for change ie a lot of Pathfinder threads that would need marked as such.

I agree with the OP. Pathfinder isn't exactly 3E. It's only a slightly different animal, but different enough where there will be a difference in those who play it (some are just going to stick with their basic 3E games and don't care about Pathfinder stuff, and the 3E tag should mean just that). Including a Pathfinder tag helps differentiate from just standard 3E topics.

There haven't been a lot of Pathfinder threads, but I think there's been enough to want to be able to differentiate them. And, I'd imagine the number of Pathfinder threads will only increase after the books are released.

Also, I can see good reason for Pathfinder threads in both of these forums. Just as we have threads about WotC's decisions concerning D&D, people will have threads about Paizo concerning Pathfinder as well as rules specific threads for the other forum.

Perhaps there should be a Paizo tag also.

Tags come after threads. If the threads are there, we'll add the tags. We're not in the business of trying to create specific discussions by adding tags, though (and I doubt that'd work anyway).

Basically, we accomodate the discussions taking place here, but we don't try to direct them. So if you want a Pathfinder tag, start more Pathfinder threads (without spamming!) :)

If it's about rules, yes.

If it's not about rules, then no.

After all, there's a 4e rules forum (and a houserules forum), but there's a 4e tag.

I don't think prefix and tab ARE the same thing for vBadvanced, the forum software run here.

A tag is a name that is put in each post a person makes that allows a "tag cloud" to build and show popular topics. The forum system tries to simulate this by auto-tagging common words in your forum post topics (have you ever had the error message that you have too many tags?)..... Anyways...

I think Pathfinder could deserve it's own forum group and one or three forums (a general discussion, Pathfinder rules, Pathfinder house rules)

It deserves that level of validation, IMHO, and the numbers of posters and good positive threads will that will thrive there will make it worth it. Look at it as forum segregation. :p. Herd your groups up and let them chat and discuss and bask in each own's glory.

I agree with this. Pathfinder is not 4E and it is not 3E or earlier. I also believe that with the final rules coming out on Thursday August 13th there will be a lot of discussion. Please consider a single new forum sandwiched between the 4E & 3E forums.

What's wrong with the OGL category? Good enough for Conan, Mutants and Masterminds, Arcana Evolved, etc... but not enough to contain the awesome that is Pathfinder?
