Pathfinder 1E These forums need a "Pathfinder" prefix.

After all, there's a 4e rules forum (and a houserules forum), but there's a 4e tag.

But that's a legacy thing. The 4E Rules forum was the 4E forum before 4E was released. That was made up of threads pulled from General Discussion when it was decided the 4E discussion needed its own forum.

I imagine they need the 4E prefix since so many of the threads already used it. Pulling it might causes some forum issues when trying to access those threads.

Plus, this is a good example of how a discussion gets a forum. Get the discussions going. Do it in an organic way (don't spam the forums with Pathfinder threads) and let the needs drive the tools. When a prefix for Pathfinder is need, it will certainly be created.

It deserves that level of validation, IMHO, and the numbers of posters and good positive threads will that will thrive there will make it worth it.

Respectfully - that's an editorial position that the staff generally prefers not to take. We are not here to give games "validation", or to decide for anyone what "deserves" consideration. That's the community's job.

If and when there's enough Pathfinder-specific traffic on the boards, then we'll make prefixes/forums as seems appropriate. This is long established practice that helps keep the place more usable - special consideration for a topic comes when empirical evidence shows the topic needs it.

What's wrong with the OGL category? Good enough for Conan, Mutants and Masterminds, Arcana Evolved, etc... but not enough to contain the awesome that is Pathfinder?

I agree. The '3E' prefix is actually '3E/OGL'. Pathfinder is an OGL game based on the 3E ruleset. It fits.

So unless we start getting a very large number of Pathfinder-specific threads, I don't think anything needs to be changed.

At the moment, all Pathfinder threads still usually have "Pathfinder" in the title. I suppose if that changes (because it just becomes ridiculous if you add "Pathfinder, Golarian Continent X, Church Y), there is a definite need for the Tag.

I'd prefer to see it earlier than later.
