Things that Should have been in the original 3e Monster Manual

I thought there really should have been an entry for Pheonixs and Cyclops. I know they were later printed in MM2 and MotP, but as they are both rather important monsters, I thought they should have been in there. Oh, and I agree that there should have been an entry for humans.

Deities & Demigods (Olympian Pantheon section) for the cyclops. Not the manual of the planes.

I made a quick count in the ToH: 39 1e MM monsters, 77 (nearly twice as much) 1e FF monsters, and 112 (nearly twice as much) from 1e MM2.


On the topic of missing creatures, I wouldn't have been too worried if outsiders wouldn't have been put in the MM, if they were all (including gehreleth & rilmani) put in another book, published soon after, and included in the SRD.
