Okay, here are some new ideas.
First of all, this character is not combat oriented so it's not covered so well by the rules. So I had to modify some classes, including rogue and wizard.
Rogue - 1 level per 3 wizard levels
- Add Bardic Knowledge
- Add knowledge (individual) as class skill
- 12 sp / level
- Remove all combat abilities (no sneak attack, no evasion, BAB and weapon prof. as a commoner)
- Skill mastery or bonus feat every 3rd level (at level 10+ plus they may take greater skill mastery too)
Wizard - 3 levels per 1 rogue level
- Add bardic knowledge
- Add speak language as class skill
- Remove alchemy as class skill
- Remove Scribe Scroll bonus feat
- All spells must be cast with at least V and S components. They can be removed with a silent / still spell feat as usual.
So, most logical is to take the "Rogue" (or "Sage") at first level. The skill will represent his 60 years of book reading. Then I will level up as wizard 2-3 levels, then add one level of rogue and so on.

Heh.
Before I do this, I would like to know if ther are any simplier way to know all languages than to waste 43 skill points on it? If I took wizard at first level I could take the Comprehend Language spell, but it's 10min / level and you read 1 page per minute in some weird reason...
And no I agree it's not so logical that one can know 50 languages as 1st level, but I see it in a simple way: He learned one language per year. Also, his wizard friends up in the library may also have boosted him magically...
Comments and ideas are welcome.
Sincerely,
Psionicist
