I saw Pirates II for the second time last night at the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood. WOW, do they put on a show there! Most of the original set props are there in a museum downstairs, the entire theatre is decorated in the theme of the movie, there is an organist you plays music in a moving organ before the show, a full moving show along the lines of a small Pirates disneyland ride before the show, and a give-away before the show for free Disneyland tickets. Yeesh, that theatre sure knows how to do it up!

Oh, and spoiler for the next movie, as told by someone in charge of props for the movie that was there -
The locket that Dalma has in her house has the same face as the music-box locket that Davy Jones has, and the third movie will feature a third locket. Dalma may be AKA Calypso, Davy Jones' lost love.

The theatre *I* went to see it in had a cool display in the middle of the lobby where you could buy a bucket of Dead Man's Chest popcorn for the price of a compact car. If you were willing to mortgage your house you could get drinks too.

I think we both know who's theatre had the better promo displays.

:\

edit: because I can't even do sarcasm right, apparently. Wait-does this count?
