Hellboy 2 does well, just sliding by Hancock. Journey to the Center of the Earth comes in 3rd, good thing it only cost 60 mill to make or it may be a bomb like Meet Dave!

The combination of three premieres knocked Hancock out of number one, I think. Generous speculation might suggest that Meet Dave picked a bad month to open.

I'm suprised Hancock's dropoff wasn't higher.

Meet Dave was going for a specific target audience... I think they wanted the family crowd who wouldn't be interested in Hellboy 2 or the comedy loving crowd. If they had opened in the fall or early spring, they might have done better.
