THIS with THAT project proposal. . .

On the heels of the Playing THIS with THAT thread, I'd like to propose that sometime in the next six months, you take some time out of your regular gaming to play either an established adventure (e.g., a commercial adventure module) or an adventure of your own design in an established setting (e.g., a commercial and well-known setting, such as Ravenloft) using a rules system that is deliberately a wild departure from the system that the adventure or setting was originally designed to be used with. And, then, of course -- you should tell us about your experience ;)

I love the idea, however I won't meet your criterion of using a published adventure or setting.

I am looking at using an alt rules set in May/June as part of a planar intervention that helps explain the switch to 4E. I will likely be using the simple 'Savage Worlds' in lieu of the normal 3.5, and depending how it goes use it for further ethereal/astral/hells/heavens/outer planes adventures should the game go that direction. The adventure and setting will be my own.

I intend to try running Keep on the Shadowfell (4e) in a 1e-based game sometime later this year...does that count?

As for my own part, I think I am going to run In Search of Adventure using either Story Engine or The Shadow of Yesterday. Isle of Dread using Beasthunters may also be fun. Of course, I may go on a module buying spree before then, so all of that is subject to change.
