Thoughts for The Company

Olan has been thinking. It seems to him that we are on a path. Some of us are on individual paths that coincide with that of the main goal, and that is the destruction of the Enslavers. But, what do we do once this goal is accomplished? Olan has some ideas. He feels that he is on a spiritual journey. Part of that journey, he feels, is understanding the nature of the world and magic as it exists now. He wants to study the magic of the Azraelites and use this power to create marvelous new cities and institutions! He means to link the Sanctuaries with this power, so that they can communicate over vast distances.

Thorm's goal is to be returned to his rightful place in the nobility. He is clearly a natural and gifted leader (as well as a mighty warrior) and apparently as one of the few remaining, non-evil members of the ruling class he should be richly rewarded for leading the people out of this slavery. They should make him their king, or at least a duke, and he should control his own piece of the world with servants and serfs all of his own.

In short this particular oppressive slavery is a temporary aberration from the normal order of oppressive servitude. The status quo should be restored, except with Thorm suitably uplifted in the grand hierarchy for his sure-to-be legendary actions in this war. Epic poems will be told of his bravery, his prowess and his fight to restore the people to their previous position of poverty and subservience.

Thuma lost her true family to the slavers when they invaded. The Company is all she has. She just wants to end injustice and villainy in the entire world. The most prevalent of which just happens to be the slavers at this time.
