Thoughts on a spell....

Need some feedback on a spell.........

Randoms Warping Madness.
Transmutation(wild)
Level: ?
Range: Personal
Duration: Instant(permanent)
Components: VSM
Sv: none
SR: none

Alters potion of polymorphing,(material component),with the very essence of chaos. Upon drinking the potion the caster undergoes,possibly,drastic change. Roll 1d8 and 1d20 for each attribute.....
1= -3
2= -2
3= -1
4= 0
5= 0
6= +1
7= +2
8= +3
Any roll of 20 on the d20 allows you to choose where to apply that result.

I just want to understand, the caster uses this spell to alter a potion of polymorph? Does it prevent the drinker from changing into whatever or does it still work and changes the abilities? Generally, I don't let casters augment potions or similar items with spells, as it gets a little power mad. Following this spell will be the potion enhancement spell to add fairie fire to the drinker, or bless, or mage armor....

As a stand alone spell I would go with level 2 or 3, and would change the duration to that of similar ability affecting spells. No way should it be permanent.

The potion would be transformed into 'essence of chaos' so no polymorphing. I was also thinking that it could only ever be cast once and how about 1dx mutations thrown into to the mix as well which could be good, bad or just cosmetic?
