I'd second the removal of range affects. I've never taken into consideration that a spell has a useful range of 400 + 40/caster level (or whatever it is) for Long. Only on an open plane would you ever see someone at 500+ feet away, and at that point such a range would be terribly undramatic.
I think a flat touch, 25, 100, 500 would work just as well for all the ranges.
Durations are a different matter because the difference from one round to 5 is pretty huge.
