the intro for almanac states it will cost $5. and it isn't even on paper!?!?!
grab a dragon and do a comparison. if i subscribe to dragon it is a little over $3 an issue. for this i know i will get some of the best art in the industry, news from the most inside inside sources, way more than 44 pages and what could arguably be the best content around.
and it is "real" in that it comes to me every month in the mail and can be held, perused quickly and handed to a friend.
now, as far as i can tell, you are charging in the same ballpark or more, have fewer pages, less inside scoops, i am assuming a less "name" staff, less access to the best writers in the industry and you are carrying the stigma of the pdf. noone is ever gonne see your product sitting on the coffe table unless the consumer takes the time to print it out at their expense.
i think you either need to massively upgrade content, soze and art, or lower your prices to 1/3 of their current or less.
