D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on this weapon feat

The DC to trip people seems high to me. I know that it is the same as casters, but most monsters do not have a good Dex save. Might be more balanced with skipping damage and having the option to trip.

I like being able to use your proficiency bonus to aid in jump and climb checks, a la Dr. Jones.

Just like Shield Master this should use your Bonus Action.

On your turn, you can use your reaction to use the whip to deflect blows,

I think this should use your Bonus Action too (KISS applies).

Opportunity attacks with a whip are made with advantage if the opponent is not wearing metal armor.

Hell no. Think about animals with tough skin or thick fur for instance.
