Thoughts on worlds and planes...

For what its worth. I see your point. I don't mind a jaunt to another plane on a rare occasion but I wouldn't miss it. One world is enough. Just look at Earth. Here there are locations that will blow your mind. Ranging from blistering deserts to ice wastes, atop clouds in alpine spires or at the bottom of rainforest caves. Lush lake districts contrasting towering city sprawls. Everything is already here. Why bother leaving?
How is it called - dialing up to 11?

It is a bit like having the various humanoid races like Elves and Dwarves. Why do we need them? There are countless of humanoid cultures which unique traits, why isn't human enough?

The same is for planes. Why do we need an Astral Sea, the Feywild or whatever else, if we have the Arctic terains, Djungles, the Deap Sea or just a plain graveyard...?

D&D should be fantastic, just not runaway fantastic.

I love the idea of the Feywild and some planes being reflections of the real world, like in the Chronicles of Amber.

It is interesting, kind of realistic (:P) and will provide lots of adventuring opportunities
