thread sponsors?

That thread from someone looking for the bard thread got me to thinking.... (uh-oh)

What if we (ENworld) had "thread sponsors" who collected, and maintained links to threads covering specific topics. So, like someone could be designated the "sorcerer sponsor" so any thread on sorcerers they could find and catalog, and maintain an ongoing list of those threads. Then, when someone wanted a link to conversations about sorcerers, that sponsor could inundate them with links on the topic.

What do you think?

i know a few people like that over on other boards.. WotC in particular

Tom Jackson is the Bard Man

Jack Daniel is the Pirate Man

We'd need a lot of folks to volunteer. There are a lot of categories.

1 for each class.
...each race.
...alternative races
...arcane magic in general
...divine magic in general
...psionics in general
...for all the campaign settings - Eberron, FR, SL, Oathbound, PS, etc.
...alternative spellcasting systems
...technology
...sea-faring topics
...monsters by category
...new magic items
...magic item creation
...feats
...skills
...NPC classes
...Prestige Classes
...new classes
...dungeons
...forests

Jeez, there are a lot. I'm sure I barely scratched the surface.

I wonder if there's a message board hack/feature that could allow these folks the ability to maintain a page of links. Or if nothing else set it so they could maintain a thread that they, and only they, could post to.

Hmmm .. I wonder if the Articles system could be used for this?

It is a nifty idea if there are a few folks who have a strong interest in a fairly narrow topic. Good existing example is Mark's DM Advice thread.

Wouldn't subscribing to threads do this, at least for the individual?

I hereby volunteer to be the keeper of all things related to Gnaked Gnomes.

Rel has learned the value in volunteering early for an easy job.

Alas, Rel has not learned not to speak in the third person.
