It is a nifty idea if there are a few folks who have a strong interest in a fairly narrow topic. Good existing example is Mark's DM Advice thread.

Mark's DM advice thread is a great example, and that one is very large in scope. It could probably even be broken down further.


I will volunteer to take all the technology threads. I'll include technology/tinkering/guns/gunpowder, and generally anything along those lines.

It would depend on how it was maintained. I've seen it done in other places, and after time the list gets so long that it takes just as long to browse it as it does to browse a listing of search results.

And that is my real point. The forum already has a search feature, I just don't really see a point to duplicating it, or provide folks who don't pay for it (the one thing that makes having a paid account worthwhile to me, aside from helping to support the site) with an easy way to bypass it.

Sorry to be a naysayer. There seems to be enough support for it here, so perhaps it's a great idea and I'm just unable to see why (wouldn't be the first time I was too dense to get the point). I'll likely keep using search either way.
