I like Nutkinland great, but it's a big hassle to browse and since the EZ boards have set up their Big Brother esque "We need *all* your information!" it's too much to bother.

Ideally, I'd like a Real World forum here (I guess the Straight Dope will probably do for now) where the flamewars still get klunked and the swearwords still get rubbed out, but where we could actually intelligently discuss things like rational people.

Basically, I'm too lazy for Nutkinland (though I will occasionally browse what others have written), and I'm too fearful of totally unmoderated discussion...

I want a free and open and non-violent exchange of opinions. Maybe I'm too much of an optimist to think that can happen even when people as rational as the people here talk about the stuff..

That is exactly what I've been saying at Nutkinland, and it's quite ironic that they will praise you for saying the same thing that they are blasting me for.
