Threatening Reach - out or in ?

We have got ourselves a bit confused over how threatening reach works.

Does it work when the PC (or enemy if the players have TR) walks into a square within range, say if its TR 2 squares, does it trigger when you walk into the first quare, or does it trigger when you "Move" sorry, out of a square in TR range ?

As this is how it works with normal battles, if you are adjacent to a creature, and you "Move" away or out of the square ??

I believe TR works when they move out of a square that is within TR. So if TR is 2 like you said, then once they move within one square of you, they provoke an AoO unless they shift in.

The way all opportunity attacks work is that leaving a square that is threatened provokes the attack, the default is 1 square so leaving a square adjacent to a creature without shifting provokes whether you move away or to a different adjacent square. With threatening reach 2 you provoke when you leave a square that is 2 away from a creature without shifting, again whether you end up in another square 2 away, adjacent to the creature, or farther away from the creature.

Threatening reach just means you can make OAs against enemies within your TR range. It does nothing to change how the OAs themselves work.
