Three Dragon Ante is wicked fun!

I got Three Dragon Ante from a buddy the other day, and I just love it! So far we've played it with 2, 4, 6, and 8 players, sitting both soberly at home and tipsily in a pub, in character and out.

It is a BLAST.

Playing in character is my favourite, especially with the straight forward skill-related abilities. (Although I'm going to simplify Concentration.) The table talk was hilarious, and I even got to further the story a bit by playing an NPC. It's so much fun that we're going to use the game as a warm-up exercise to get us in character before starting the rest of our sessions.

Hands down a five-star game from me. :)

Thanks for the encouragement... I was considering picking this up today and I probably will. We have some poker players in our group so this should be up their alley. And the fact that it directly ties into the game mechanics (including with various skills, etc., I hear?) makes it all the sweeter.

I haven't gotten past the stage of playing mock games to learn the rules, but it does seem like it'll be a lot of fun.

There's no way to learn like playing for real. If you're worried about your PC losing loads of money, just make the game count for coppers or silvers. Dive in, the water's fine!
