Yeah. SS has the Thri-Kreen as a player race. Both Psionic and non-Psionic. Try a cleric or ftr mage type. take all the feats for multiple arms and wind up casting and attacking in the same round!

Also shows up in the PsiHB web enhancement, a much different version than what appears in MM2. The SS thri-kreen is almost the same as the MM2 thri-kreen, but with the Intelligence penalty removed and the gythka damage toned down.

The best version is the Savage Species non-psionic thri-kreen.

Even so, playing a psychic warrior thri-kreen is cool, and you don't have to give up two levels to do so.

Not a version recommendation here, but... If you're looking for nastiness, might I suggest a thri-kreen rogue? Many multiple sneak attacks! Definite ambulatory cuisinart material in that combo, yup, yup.
