[Thrilling Tales]Question about Thrilling Tales

Yuan-Ti

First Post
Okay, my RPGNow Wish List has grown fat on Adamant products. After buying and being impressed by Hot Pursuit, I am on the verge of a shopping spree (Corsair d20 has been on my wishlist the longest... just not sure when I would get the chance to use it). Seeing "Mummy's Revenge" go on sale has me thinking. I am planning a Grim Tales campaign, you see. I know Thrilling Tales is intended for use with d20 Modern, and you know GT is based on d20 Modern... can you see where I am going?

So, how compatible are the Thrilling Tales supplements with Grim Tales? More importantly, how easy would it be to run the Mummy's Revenge adventure using Grim Tales?

Thanks in advance.

I hate being the first to reply to my own thread...

Thinking more about it... Is there a chase in Mummy's Revenge, or will I have to invent one to use with Hot Pursuit?

I'd love to be able to tell you "they're perfectly compatible! Go BUY!!!"

However, sheepishly, I cannot---because I don't own a copy of Grim Tales, and so I don't know.

I can, however, tell you this much: Given that both are based on D20 Modern, and given the fact that I didn't change any of the basic D20 Modern assumptions with THRILLING TALES (the products are very much a plug-in, not a re-design), I suspect that they are fairly compatible.

The adventure was written by Jeb Boyt, who wrote it at the same time as Corey Reid was writing HOT PURSUIT, so no elements of Corey's product made it into the adventure....that said, it would be fairly easy to include a chase or two yourself.

Future THRILLING TALES adventures will, without a doubt, have HOT PURSUIT-compatible chases in them.

Thanks for your interest!

Crikey, I am such an easy sell... :(

"Hello. My name is Yuan-Ti and I am a PDF slut." :uhoh:

Tell you what, GMSkarka -- if that is your real name -- I'll buy them and let you know how compatible they are. :)
