This may frighten you...
I'm actually working on a D20 conversion for a Japanese RPG/Car Wars style game that ran in RPG Magazine, a gaming magazine from the late 80s and 90s published by Hobby Japan.
The game, entitled Mobile Racer Championship, is essentially Thunderball Rally with Giant Robots. The pilots/drivers are very reminiscent of the characters found in the various Street Fighter and King of the Fighters games.

I'd just like to note here that I'd pay good money for a well-done game of luchador mecha. That would be too Howard Waldrop-like for words.
