Tiles and floorplans... how to decorate?

What obvious ideas am I missing?

Well, WotC's dungeon tile sets usually come with a variety of 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 double-sided pieces with all manner of the sorts of things you're looking for. Statues, debris, grafiti, webs, etc. They seem explicitly designed to be used on top of your dungeon tiles to spruce them up.

I brought a load of coloured gaming chits: tiny plastic discs in different colours.

So, if there's a skeleton in the corner here, I drop a black chit in that square. And so on.

They cost next to nothing, too.

I make "doo-dads" out of polymer clay and bake it. Here's an old picture of some of the stuff I've made. I really need to take more pics!

I think I'm proudest of the archery tree.

Really nice, Gilladian! Yeh, Sculpey is great for making "things" to add to your game board - everything from monsters to loot to environment details.

Also, there was a blog around somewhere that suggested getting those free paint sample 'chips' from the hardware store and cutting them to represent water, swampy ground, areas of fog, whatever you can think of...a lot of them already come in 1" x 1" sizes. We use them to represent flying characters, or characters under a spell effect, etc..

Also, Lego blocks, 'cause they're pretty awesome for just about anything.

a couple small legos (or other brand building blocks).
Some of them are really small and could easily be mixed and matched for whatever size/shape you want on the fly.
