I agree with most of your points, but this one I'm not sure I agree:

Darksun, to me, is the environmental-apocalypse setting: having the Tableland faced with an unexpected upcoming (dry)Ice Age brought to you by an elemental lord (Cryonax, maybe?) would be awesome. The inhabitants of the setting can mostly make-do with the sun and desert and whatnot, but all they know and are prepared for would be for nothing against the creeping cold!

I mentioned it in another thread but I’m about to run a mash up of rise of the Runelords, Shattered Star and Return of the Runelords. Set in Eberron. With Morgrave University replacing the Pathfinder society. The Runelords being ancient giants of xendrik. Should be fun.
