To Mystically-Modernize Spycraft?

I concede that the game's feel depends heavily on the GM. I've just always viewed the Shadowrun setting as very cinematic. Until 3rd Ed it was almost impossible to die from a frag grenade. Speed Samurai fire at least 6 shots per turn, Trolls chop through tanks with thier axes, and mages level entire fields squads of security with one well placed spell. All as starting PCs.

That's hard to accurately model using D20. It could be done, it's just tricky.

Yea, and at the same time the average NPC could take down most characters about as easly as a character could take them down. Timing, planning and skill was needed to succed. Your correct hard to do with either Spycraft or D20 Modern. So maybe pick the one that is closer to the feel you wanted.

I merged Spycraft and Sovereign Stone's magic system with great success. (setting was real-world circa 2005). It allowed some spectacular effects but kept the power level down so that the magicians didn't steamroller the non-magicians in combat.
