To the Designers: May we please have the DDXP errata?

To the designers of 4e,

As you all know, the dnd experience has caused a lot of excitement among the community. Many people are in fact using the pregen characters as a basis for their first 4e games...an introduction to their gaming groups. We even have several industrious people who have created small modules based on just the information that has been released.

The community has heard mention that two abilities for the pregen characters have been changed from what we've seen on the sheet. That is the divine challenge ability of the paladin, and the careful shot ability of the ranger. While we all recognize you cannot just release all the information about the game before the release, it would be nice that the first introduction to 4e we provide to our gaming groups be a correct one.

In this spirit, may we please have the changes you all have made to these abilities?

Yeah, that's a new one on me, too.

And man, I wish they'd release an article with the stats for humans. I'm dying to find out what exactly they get.

*crosses fingers and hopes to God that humans get +2 to any two stats of the players choice*

Very constructive. I am sure this above will help the purpose of this thread.

Heh. I love it. Errata being released 2 1/2 months before the rules are! :p

But I second Stalker0's request. I am one of those who is "running" 4E based on the pregen characters and monsters released at DDXP.

Are your sure about Carful Strike having been changed ?

From what I remenber, it has indeed been changed, but *before* D&DXP : it used to give a reroll to your attack (roll 2 times, keep the better), and has been changed to give a +4 bonus instead (I think that for a power useable at will, it was maybe slowing thinks a little)

They're not as much errata as the correct rules. The characters where created before the final draft of the PHB was sent to the printers from what has been revealed by WotC and there was no justification to waste the money to fix the mistakes on the character sheet by reprinting them all which would have been pretty expensive cost considering how many they gave out at the convention. Paper is not cheap. I agree though that releasing the correct version of the abilities would be nice to help with our demo playing as players would be less likely to like the rules if they are presented incorrectly.

As for the errata, they are both easy to fix. Divine Challenge the paladin has to stay and fight his mark, he can't run away there by automatically causing the 8 damage as the monster can't fight him because he isn't there to fight. Careful Shot being a ranged attack, should only be used at range and not used in melee and that was the problem with it. They had players running around doing Legolas five foot shots tearing up the battle when they were obviously meant to stand back with the wizard doing the shooting based on the name of the ability. To fix it just require the PC to be at least 5 from the target in order to use it.

Don't threadcrap, please. Your complaint has nothing to do with this request for the 4e errata. Changing the subject only distracts from the thread.
