Tokyo Gameday anyone? Tatsukun?

I'm going to be in Tokyo and surrounding area later this month until mid-March.

I was wondering if anyone would like to get together? It needn't be for a game (although that's possible); it could just be for drinks and 'frothing'. :)

Please post below if you think you can make it.

Thanks.

You might want to try joining the Yahoo JIGG (Japan International Gamer's Guild) group and sending out a message there. There are quite a few Tokyo-area JIGG members and they get together periodically.

(Despite the fact that their web link doesn't work, the JIGG mailing list is still active.)

I used to live in Tokyo and gamed occasionally. Hard to find players thats for sure. I used to teach English and ran D&D games for some of the other teachers between classes.

My wife is Japanese and she wants to move back there someday.

Thanks, John. That's a really good tip. I'll give it a shot if this thread for an EN World meet-up doesn't work.

Thanks again. ;)

I didn't find it all that difficult to find gamers in Tokyo, though I played more board games than role-playing games there. I not only found JIGG but I also managed to find, via the Internet, a small group of gamers at Sophia University that weren't connected to JIGG. JIGG used to run ads in the gaijin classified ad magazines like Tokyo Classified and you could also try that to find English-speaking gamers.

I went there  (to the university, I mean, not the gamers' group) but it was in the days before widespread Internet usage. There was no gaming group at Sophia/Jochi back then - not an English-speaking one anyway.
