Tomb of Horrors 3.5

Wow, talk about a thread quickly degenerating.....

Anyway, I ran the 3.0 conversion back in 2002 for a group of 3. Non eof them had EVER been through any of it. Due to the cleric's player, the characters made it all the way to the chapel room relatively unscathed. Who says a girl can't be an intelligent RPG player? Had the guys not listened to her advice, they never would have gotten past the first hall. Anyway, we had to stop there and never finished it. :(

Back on topic, is there a revised version of the Tomb of Horrors (not the Tome of Horrors, I know that there is a revised version of that :) ).

If so is it 3.0 or 3.5? Is the revision document on EN World usable without the actual original module or would I need to buy a PDF version of the Tomb of Horrors in order to run it?

Yeah, four armed gargoyle... I ruled to let the cleric's stone shape spell end him on a failed save, which they did. (The characters then gleefully smashed him into little tiny bits from the lump he was shaped into!) Perhaps not even the intention of the spell, but, it let the night go on and stay fun while being creative so I let it go (and I'm glad I did.)

Wizards did a complete conversion of the Tomb of Horrors to 3.5e as a free download.

You can find it here:

You *must* own the original adventure to use any revision document on EN World.

Cheers!

I've run Tomb of Horrors a couple of times. Most recently I used the WotC revised version. This thread has a bit of discussion on the adventure. The adventure was split over two sessions when I ran it. Here are Part 1 and Part 2 of my game - posts 13 and 49 from that same thread.

There's another, larger thread about the ToH somewhere, but I can't find it right now. I recall the discussion being pretty polarised, with some folks posting daft prattle and others providing genuinely thoughtful insights (as you might expect from the net, heh heh). All in all, an interesting adventure, as much for its contents as for the reactions that it provokes ;)...
