Ice would be preferable. She takes every ice spell that she can get, and now all of the fire spells are turned into ice spells thanks to Energy Substitution.
Do you think it would be unbalancing at all if I let her use Ice Paraelemental? It actually seems less powerful, not having that vortex ability, or the drench. Instead, it gets combat reflexes for free, and the chill metal spell as a supernatural ability. Plus she'd still get all of the elemental resistances... Nifty.
