I got my comp copy yesterday. I must say it's a sweet book. I like that the author gave credit to those whose ideas he's mining (even if he HAD to do it, I like it).

Well, me being the author, I think I am qualified to answer this. :) Actually, I didn't HAVE to give credit. Clark thought it would be very cool and a very nice touch to give props to those that came before and did the original work. I agree. And I am glad we did it. The same reason I give props on my website to the original source of the monster. It's the right thing to do and it adds a little something to each monster.

The only thing I must wonder about is the "Asswere"... so by the light of the full moon it too becomes a full moon? Curious.

LOL- yes indeed, as a matter of fact it does. :)

I have been looking forward to this since I first heard about. 11 days, 11 days... must wait just a little bit longer... 11 days...

This is my highest priority purchase right now. Actually has been for quite a while but I've been waiting for this one for a while. More Arch-Devils, Demons, and of course the all important all-purpose Flumph!

AHHHHH 11 DAYS...

:p :D

I may actually be getting this book before the MMII! :p

That is, if I have the money... but since the 11th is my birthday, I may have some luck in this! ;)

Monster Manual II pales in comparison. This book far surpasses it in use and selection. This book should have been the Monster Manual II.

Perhaps in utility ToH is better than MMII. I don't have the former yet. It's important to note thought that MMII was in full color and art taste will vary, but I thought there were some great illustrations in MMII.

It's also important to note that MMII was for a specific purpose, more high level creatures, as opposed to ToH's noble idea of bringing more 1st ed monsters to 3rd ed.

I wonder how many people are going to say ToH ripped off this d20 or that d20 company though. I know when MMII came out we had several posters who were sure that half the book was taken from another source. "Man, how much OGC are they using? The whole book?" :D

Not sure what that has to do with the price of Tea in china, as my grandma would say, Pagan.

But regarding Joe's comment, I will say, while I like color art, the black and white stuff DOES have it's moments. :)

Also about my own comments, well that was because it was ANNOUNCED by Jeff Grubb there would be some monsters from various d20 products. Turns out it was only one, but still, nice to get some recognition for Creature Collection! :)
