The Mongoose version from Necromancy: Beyond the Grave, which is a class, and at 20th level basically has all the old Death Knight powers except the Fireball.

The Living Greyhawk Journal template, which basically has nothing but the Fireball.

The MM2 version (which I haven't seen yet).

The Death Knight variant "Demonic Knight" in the Tome of Horrors.

The forthcoming Krynnish Death Knight, from Sovereign Stone Press.

Actually the Living Greyhawk Journal Death Knight template was written by me, but accidentally credited to Rich Redman (long story, just a misunderstanding, and this was corrected at the end of the followup article, and then again in the scalemail in the issue following that one). It does have the fireball as well as negative energy damage, and Fear; then it has a bunch of defensive special qualities.

The Death Knight Template that appears in the LGJ is the same one that is reprinted in MMII. This also appears with a Death Knight template applied to a black guard (nasty piece of work, that one).

The character class that you refer to is actually in Green Ronin's Secret College of Necromancy.

Monggose's Necromancy: Beyond the Grave has a different version of the template.

Tome of Horrors Good

I have had the book about a week now having got it last Tuesday. After suffering the interminable waits for Hasbro to get Monster Manual 2 and Book of Vile Darkness to Britain, it was so good to get this on time. White Wolf distribution can get the job done, so why not Hasbro ?

I was disappointed with some of the artwork because I compared it to its 1st Edition versions. But others really pleased me, like Cerebus and the new look for the Crabman.
And it is out at a very good price. I have yet to be disappointed by a Necromancer Games product and this continues to set standards.

Nice book and very useful. The Artwork has some highs and lows. The biggest flaw in my opinion is the lack of proofreading. There are lots of typos and misspellings in the book, even on the back of the cover ...
My favorite:Sllad Lord, Lord of Entropy; p. 234: "It is believed that his true form is that of a 15-foot tall black salad." ;)
