[TOOL] The Loot Divider - NEW PRODUCT!

RiTz21

Explorer
Treasure. The word that all adventurers like to hear!

The Loot Divider is a workbook that functions in both Excel and Open Office. It is difficult to compare to other products, as a Google search turned up no other tools like this. The Loot Divider is NOT a treasure generator. It is more akin to a 'treasure accounting' Tool.

What does it do exactly?
When a group of adventurers find treasure, they usually keep the usable stuff for themselves, and sell the rest. This is where the Loot Divider comes in. Its first task, is to help you price items that you've found without requiring the need to check the book for individual item prices. This means you can save time but avoiding item price lookups. All the mundane items of Pathfinder RPG are included, as are all magical items and even the Epic Items of the SRD (3.5).

How to sell items?
When items (magical or otherwise) are entered in the Treasure! sheet of the Loot Divider, their value will be displayed. The items 'sell' price is displayed, using the standard selling rate (which is set at %50 by default). This sell rate can be changed for a single items should the need arise. If you have an item that is a work of art, you can tell the Loot Divider its value simply by using the dollar sign followed by the sell value (given by the DM) (like Silver Necklace$55). A video of the Treasure! sheet can be found on the Loot Divider's home page. It will show you how to enter a magical item with properties.

Reduce conflicts over Magical items!
How does your group handle situations when two (or more!) players want the same item that was found? Well, to avoid conflicts, the Loot Divider allows for the tracking of who got which item using its Tracker Sheet. In that Sheet, up to ten players can be tracked by the amount of treasure they have 'taken' for themselves. With this tracking, it becomes easier to resolve conflicts: The Player who received the 'least' treasure so far should have priority to the item!

What about Items that are good, but that nobody wants to 'own'?
Some items can be considered "group" items: Stuff that could be used by anyone, at any part of the adventure. For examples, curative magics often falls into that group of items. Items that are for the benefit of the group can be listed in the Group sheet, with a location (which can be a specific player or a place).

Can it be customized?
The Data table of the Loot Divider allows for the addition of hundreds of custom items. New Armor, Ammunition, Shield and Weapon properties can be added in the Tables sheet. You can even find user shared properties on the Loot Divider's forum.

Reporting Loot?
The Loot Divider has a Reporting sheet that allows you to make nice reports of the loot for the other players - either on a BBCode compatible forum, or simply using text.

Conclusion!
After using the Loot Divider for a little while, it becomes apparent that this Tool should have been created a long time ago!! It makes treasure sharing much easier, and significantly reduces the amount of time wasted in looking up the price of items - and possibly the time spent arguing about the ownership of this new magical item!!

The Loot Divider version1.20 has been released! Here are the release notes:

ADDED
  • A new sheet was added called the Players' Loot. This sheet has a similar function to the Item Tracker, but offers more automation for those who have access to Excel Macros. Instead of listing an item, then placing the 'value' of this item in the player's column as the Item Tracker does, the Players' Loot gives each player a column from which items in the Treasure! sheet can be selected. When such an Item is selected, a Macro will automatically pick up the value from the Treasure! sheet, adjusted by the rate (standard or custom), and attach it to the selected Item!
  • Added the 'scroll' type to support scrolls
  • All the scrolls presented in the SRD (here) have been added. These are from the 3.5 rule set.
  • Two new forum section have been added to complement the existing Resources section and the Help desk section. These are the Bug report section, where users can report any problems discovered, and the Suggestion box section, where users can drop in ideas on how to improve the Loot Divider.

MODIFICATIONS
  • The '$' symbol will no longer override the 'Assigned to' person: Previously, if you found an item like a Painting$500 and you assigned it to a player, the Sold For amount would sill appear and the money would be 'split' amongst the players. Now, the 'Assigned To' content will override the '$' symbol, which means that the Painting$500, if assigned to "Bob", will not display the Sold For value any more. In other words, when you assign the item to someone, in all cases the sold for value will disappear, except as explained in the next bullet.
  • The ability to use the 'Assigned to' column to hold a small note instead of an assignation was added. If this column starts with an open parenthesis, then this is considered a note, and the item will still be sold. You could use this to indicate who purchased this item or anything you deem necessary. For example: '(sold to Guard)'.

Happy Gaming!

Loot Divider v1.21 - RELEASE NOTES

MODIFIED:
  • The button in the Item Data sheet will now also copy the new item to the Data sheet (in the custom Area) so that this new item will be available for the other sheets as well (specifically, the Group sheet). This will allow the Group sheet to keep a permanent record of custom built items which will not be required to exist in the Treasure! sheet any more. This assumes you have access to Excel macros and have not completely filled the custom area!
  • Increased the width of the Item Name columns in the Group sheet to use the full width on printouts.

FIXED:
  • A typo in all the names of the arcane scrolls!

Quick Picks for Macs and 64 bits PC Excel!
I updated the Loot Divider to allow Macintosh Excel users access to the Quick Picks feature! This is also true for those who use the 64 bits version of Excel on PC. So from now on, all versions of Excel 2007+ will have access to this feature!

EPIC (enhancement bonus) to Weapons, Armors and Shields added!
The Loot Divider can now handle the Epic (enhancement) bonus for weapons, armors and shields. To use that, use a bonus from +6 to +10. Do not forget the + sign, the Loot Divider needs it! For example, you can enter this: Longsword [+7] and you will get the (Epic!) value for such a longsword!

Changes in this Release:
ADDED:
  • Added support for Quick Picks for the Macintosh
  • Added the ability to define Epic weapons, armors and shields (i.e. +6 to +10 enhancement bonus)
  • Added these new types for custom gear:
    • art
    • gem
    • jewelry
    • misc
MODIFIED:
  • Improved the Treasure report when the sell rate is 0%
FIXED:
  • The animal & poison type were not available to customize gear

Happy Looting!
