Tools for PCs and WotC's relationship with JK Rowling are, well, different subjects.

Both of which are explicitly discussed in the opening post.

Well, paper is made of dead trees. Trees are our last line of defense against, well, everything humans do. Cutting them down for character sheets sounds a bit criminal . . . See where this is going?

And you’re claiming smart glass is better for the environment? Pull the other one.

dead trees I suppose. Deforestation and chemical treatment are major issues in woodpulp paper, especially as sustainable alternatives exist (bamboo, hemp, cotton fibre) and then you have alternatives like calcium carbonate (stone paper)

Absolutely not. The environmental cost of extracting and processing those minerals is significantly worse.

Everything not made from animals or plants was mined from the ground. All production and all consumption carries environmental costs. If one wishes to engage in harm reduction through their consumption habits, one would do well to understand the environmental costs of the products one chooses to consume relative to those one chooses not to.
