Tools of Two Trades (Weapliment Expertise) Article Up

Benefit: When you are using a holy symbol and wielding a melee weapon with which you are proficient, you gain a +1 feat bonus to weapon attack rolls you make with the weapon and a +1 feat bonus to implement attack rolls you make with the holy symbol

From Devoted Priest Expertise. That covers all the divine classes.

Not all divine classes can use holy symbols. Even among those with proficiency, most Paladins and Avengers would be perfectly fine never using theirs at all.

Devoted Priest blows the other two divine-themed ones away.

White Lotus Duelist sounds funny.
"What do you think of my plan?"
"I don't like it."
*stab* "You might want to rethink that?"
"Hmm. You do have a point."

The Dwarven rod thing seems especially pointless.

The whole Expertise feat concept should just go away. Nobody actually needs to bonuses except to keep up with the other guy that already has them.

Thats true if everyone is ok with missing more often than not. To actually hit monsters half the time (or a little more), especially at higher levels, take the feat.

Truly, I agree that Expertise feats should be eradicated--but I don't see how that would be good for the game unless monster defenses were adjusted accordingly as well.

EDIT: Ninja'd. Multiple times.

Well, I don't want to start THAT debate up again here, I doubt it would be too constructive and would totally derail the thread... Suffice it to say the game plays fine without Expertise. Even at epic levels. You lose 4 points vs monster defenses over 30 levels, but 30th level PCs also have a LOT of ways to improve their accuracy besides expertise feats, and hitting isn't always quite so important at that level anyway. But like I say, lets not get into this debate, nobody can prove it one way or another adequately to convince anyone else.
