I, for example, get online over the phone lines with a 56k modem...so will I be able to use the Revolutions wireless access?).

Not really, the Revolution is going to need to touch a router, which is more commonly a broadband/network device so I doubt it but I would imagine that someone, somewhere is smart enough to make a phone work with using a computer in conjunction. (I can’t imagine it being realistic/practical though.)

Though, I guess Nintendo could toss up a wireless network like cell phones use but that wouldn’t be cheap and I would be surprised if they would offer it for free.

On that I agree...I still have all of my old consoles in excellent shape.
Ditto, mine's just blinking to much to be of much use anymore... :(

It was far superior also, the blinking issues that the original NES had where solved, and Nintendo’s used top loaders go for 100 bucks (American) at auction consistently on eBay.
That's interesting. My mom, sister and I have been looking for an NES, so I might look into that. No blinking = good.

I wouldn't call it far superior. It had inferior picture quality, and lacked RCA outputs, if I remember correctly.

Why not just get a Nesticle and download the ROM's (be careful, sites with ROM's are invariably porn laden - and worse) - or if you're eletrically inclined build a ROM loader for your PC

This thread confuses me. What do you mean by blinking? And what would a top-loaded NES have to do with that? I had a NES, I enjoyed it immensely, but those games rarely have the same appeal that newer games have nowadays.

And I agree with MM, just download the NES ROM and you can get all the old games on your computer. No, it's not legal, and you didn't hear that from me. :)

When the NES loads a ROM wrong and the syetms power flashes on and off... That's blinking.

The top loader no longer had this issue, the cartridges plugged straight into the top of the system, like you see with the SNES, the Saga Genesis, and the N64. They basically go rid of the dropdown bay and the faulty 72-pin connector that was inside.

Some do and some don't... There are games on the NES that I would never play again and others that I would cause they still fill me with enjoyment. :)

Its not the same, and I’ve had limited success with them... I'm not much fan of a keyboard to play them but the last time I looked into ROMS and such was many, many, years ago.

I have an old gravis gamepad which, with it's 4 buttons, emulates all NES (and many super NES) games perfectly. You can still get them for around $15 to $20. Modern emulation is pretty much spot on for older systems like the NES.

Oh yeah! I remember those gamepads... I beat X-Wing, back when it was on floppy disk, with one. ;)
