I was 4 out of 10, until I quit playing Everquest and stopped collecting Magic cards.

Rather surprised. I can't believe "coding for fun" isn't on the list, or running Linux.

The only thing on that list I've ever been involved in is D&D, but I haven't played in a dozen years.. but I did buy the 3E books (for nostalgia's sake) and I do visit these boards.. so I'll give myself 0.5.

That list misses all sorts of things...

Like my sister's obsession with writing Buffy slash fanfic... :confused:

(returning to the topic)

I score about 2.5 -- rpgs, of course, as well as an interest in (but not terribly deep -- don't collect figures, cards, and the like, don't pick up most novels, no dress up, or no memorizing scripts, and of course NO CONVENTIONS!) in Star Trek, and a small (but not memorized)collection of Sandman , Flaming Carrot and The Tick comics. Wasn't quite sure how to score the latter two, so I game them each a score of 0.75... which is probably excessively geeky ;)

Fanfic may have been so dorky and so subculture that the authors may not even be aware of it. Though they managed to delve into furries . . .

As people have said, the list misses a lot of stuff, most of it more obscure. Yaoi or slash, for instance, both of which are not only geeky, but creepy.

Me, they got me on #9 and #10. Could be worse.

P.S. Could be raining.

Coding for fun == Better coding skills == better job == more money == mate attraction

Therefore

Coding for fun != geeky

:)

Only two at the moment (Star Wars and Roleplaying Games) but I have been as high as 4 (Everquest and Comics)! I am amazed that computer/video games didn't make the list.
