Epsidoe 1 was excellent

good humour (i.e CSI Cardiff)

Epsiode 2 wasnt so good as it didnt seem way much diff from eps 1, and not a lot seemed to happen

Will keep watching

Well, I rather enjoyed the first episode, mostly. Obviously, it suffered slightly from the need to introduce the team, and they felt the need to add a newbie to the team, so that they have an excuse for explaining things as they go (also used in X-Files, Ultraviolet, and elsewhere). Plus, in hindsight, I'm rather disturbed that one of the main characters turns out to be a date-rapist, and that they played this scene for laughs.

Episode two I didn't like at all. Spoilers:
Frankly, it felt that they'd decided to show just how edgy and 'adult' they could be, by having a story about a sex-alien possessing a human girl. Frankly, it all felt rather tacky, and indeed reminded me a great deal of the "Crusade" cancellation debacle (apparently, one of TNT's 'requests' was the addition of a crew member who explored alien societies through the medium of sex).

Mini-rant: why is it that we so often hear about 'adult' shows, where their only claim to adult story-telling is the use of Grandma-unfriendly language, and endless sex? Doesn't that just make it the sort of shows that teens try really hard to watch, without their parents knowing?

I know, the english they speak is such a foreign language.....

I used to work for a companyy called BGS. They used to be in London but it shut down. They are know in Edinburgh and recently in wales...spookily like torchwood. I did wonder what all those extra buttons on the lift where for where i used to work....

I am also pretty sure the person they were paging when they first entered either the hospital or the police station was my wives name.....conspiracy against me or wot...

Hidng n panicking

Also when in the underrgound bit with the cells (ala silence of the lambs) wasnt the female prisoner in Eps 2 called Clarice as well????

The Torchwood site is up and running, too. Haven't had much time to play around with it yet, but it seems... strange.

Going through the files on Jack right now- some articles from the past. Looks like his period as a Time Agent is being alluded to, and may be explored in the series. Maybe we'll learn what those missing two years were all about?

Sat down to watch it, but my FreeView box was playing silly buggers and it was unwatchable. It is particularly anoying because usually the BBC channels work at least for watching (recording stuff seems to be worse for some reason).

Still, apparently it is reapeated on BBC2 on Wednesday, so it isn't the end of the world. I just wish I had known that before I shelled out for the STB.

No, her name was Carys.

I thought the first episode was awesome and the second episode was pretty good. I'm really jazzed about this series and looking forward to next week.

I loved how they made various references to Doctor Who, but without being too obvious about it. They did a lot of nice foreshadowing and starting plot threads for future development. I liked all the characters and the way it looks like Gwen will be the 'heart' and conscience of the team. Good stuff! :D
