It really doesn't add a whole lot of complexity or time to combat resolution (as anyone who ran or sat through a demo at Gen Con can testify). Jeremy's review of the book on RPGNet gives you a good example of how the combat process works (see above).
There is a critical fumbles table, but it is not a highly detailed or involved. Most of the fumbles are directly related to what is likely to happen during actual combat rather than some of the deeply weird stuff that Rolemaster came up with.
Relatively quick resolution there also.
