They actually made the trailer worse than Starship Troopers 2.

So any ETA on when we are getting a reboot with a movie more closely based on the book?

From the looks of that trailer, Starship Troopers 3 is going to be awesome(ly bad). Definitely a must-see for me.

It was bad. The first one was a tolerable movie if you forgot that it was based on the book. Not with the second.

I, too, did not know there was ST2. And, in fact, I am sorry that I even saw the first one. I won't be going out of my way to even attempt to see ST3 on principle for the bad impression left by the first one.

But, on topic, the trailer looks, umm, yeah...

Nah, the first movie was a lot fun for me. I never read the book, and so I don't care how bad it was replicated.

"The mobile infantry made me the man I am today" *camera move to reveal his lost limbs...* (paraphrased)

I never saw the second part, because there was no indication it could be any good.

The second Starship Troopers was an abomination. It earned the honor of being the only movie I could not tolerate enduring through to the finish. It was the first time I honestly was angry at being conned out of my money to rent it.

Yeah, it was awful.

Though it didn't come remotely close to the awesomeness that is the book, the first movie was adequate. The second couldn't have come cloe even if they'd had a second coed shower scene. The third ... *shudder*

Someone needs to do Heinlein justice, powered armor and all.
