Never thought to Feeblemind a Dragon, that would be excellent. It still gets the Will save, but since Dragons cast arcane spells, they get their will save at a -4 as per the spell. Keep in mind, a Factotum can only cast any particular spell once a day, so perhaps you'd want it in a wand or have some scrolls handy if you miss the first time. There is no ability to invest Inspiration points to increase a spell's DC or lower an opponents save, but there are plenty of other ways to do so.yes i have. Thanks for the spot on factotums, best class ever. I believe, I can make it work when you get to higher levels. You will beable to bypass a dragons spell ressistance and reduction abilities and hit them with the feeblemind spell. Then Using the skill can befriend it, and train it. not a probelm for factotums this would work on any magic beast or creature. You could also use the 19th level Cunning brilliance to select and use the Beast Heart adept class power of Monster handle, that covers your magical beast. and with Amulet of Aberrant Empathy that covers all things you would want to catch and train. Thanks for all the help.
Unfortunately the wording of Cunning Brilliance only grants you extraordinary abilities from any "Standard Character Class", not Prestige classes. However, no reason you can't take a 1 level dip into Beast Heart Adept and still get everything a Factotum is excellent for. that 20th level really isn't necessary. A Factotum with a Monstrous Companion would be a great character indeed, and the Monster Handler ability at level 1 would cover what the Amulet of Aberrant Empathy does, without buying the item.
There is an online-but-official Factotum feat called Font of Inspiration that grants you extra Inspiration points. It's worth taking this feat as many times as you are able. This feat once covers anything you'll need from Factotum level 20.
