Training Animals/ Mounts

First Post
Hi there...

is it possible to train an animal or a mount (in my case a Paladin mount, a horse) to improve its Jump skill?
If so, how does it work?

Thanks for any advice :)

Well yes, advancement would be the normal method, but as you said animals dont gain skillpoints and in the case of a Paladin mount... its not *real* advancement, aside from HD, BAB and Saves it does not recieve skill points, feats etc.

I thought of real training. Going out with the horse and training it to jump. Are there any rules on that maybe?

An animal with an Intelligence of 2 can learn six tricks

I suppose you could rationalise that teaching it the jump 'trick' would stack with the jump skill and thus effectively increase it by +2 (synergy bonus!)
