You slide down the rope and land in chaos. Fighting rages across the Cloud Dancer. The dead and wounded litter the deck. Not many are pirates. The two Kraken Guards are about twenty feet to your left. One of them is bleeding heavily. They are surrounded by six pirates and holding their own. Barely. Davik and Yothcare are not far from the Kraken Guards. They have been pushed to the edge of the deck. Three pirates are advancing warily toward them. Yothcare gestures and chants words of power. You feel the crackle of magic in the air as three swirling blue balls of energy come streaking from the mage's hands and strike the three pirates. The First Mate is still piloting the ship. It appears that the pirates have left him alone. He is looking up at the Iron Hammer and you realize tears are flowing down his face. Following his gaze, you try to find the source of his consternation. You look at where the two ships have collided. The Iron Hammer has begun to tilt and the docking port has become entangled in the elemental support mast of the Cloud Dancer. The two ships are stuck together. Just then, two pirates come up from down below. They have clearly been looting, jewelry and coins are spilling from their pockets. One of them sees the Iron Hammer and his jaw drops. The other sees you and laughs. "Look, Houk, another one who wants to play." They both advance toward you. Initiative: laughing pirate Aalic Houk The pirate who laughed closes in carefully thrusting with his short sword. You easily turn aside his blade [Attack roll (him)= miss].
