[QUOTE="Starman, post: 1828633, member: 7663"] The ships are so entangled by now that you see no possible way to disengage them from each other. You continue to trade blows with the pirate in front of you. Finally, seeing an opening, you parry a slash aimed at your gut and counter with a thrust through his heart [Attack roll= 18+6+5 (action point)= 29, threat, Crit roll= 14+6= 20, critical; Damage roll = 3+2= 5*2= 10]. The pirate tries to laugh one more time, but only blood comes out. He crumples to the deck. The pirate, Houk, moves toward you, but he stops suddenly as a thunderous crack comes from above. You both look up and see that a large chunk of the bottom deck of the Iron Hammer has broken off and pieces are falling all over the ship. You try and dodge a large chunk [Reflex save= 1+4= 5, failure] only to have a smaller piece connect with your head [Damage= 4 points] and knocking you off of your feet. You struggle back to your feet, slightly dazed. Next to you, Houk is dead, crushed beneath the large hunk of wood you managed to avoid. Looking up again to survey the damage (and check for falling objects) you see something is wrong. The fire elemental is flickering and then suddenly it is gone! You stand there stunned, unsure what to do. The only thing keeping you afloat at this point is the badly damaged Iron Hammer. The two ships are still badly entangled. Fire continues to ravage its hull and it is lolling to one side at a precarious angle, but it seems to be supporting the Cloud Dancer for the moment. You see that more people have come up from down below, including the First Mate and some of the crew. Everyone, pirates and all, are standing frozen in shock. A hoarse cry breaks the silence, "What do we do now?" As if on cue, a cacophony of voices follow: "Olladra has turned her back on us!" "Peka! Peka, where are you?" "We're all gonna die!" "Have you ever seen anything like this?" The chatter of voices is once more cut short when the Cloud Dancer shudders and you realize that is is beginning to slowly tip upright. Before long, it will be completely vertical and no one will be able to stay on deck. For that matter, you don't know how long the Iron Hammer will support the Dancer. [/QUOTE]
