7? Weren't there only 5? (arms, legs, torso) And the one we saw was bigger than Optimus! Damn, 7 big-ass robots combining into one incredibly big-ass robot . . . AWESOME!!!
G1 toyline had 6. Two for arms, two for legs, and two for the torso (one of which got stuck being the crotch).

And I agree with Umbran, as that's pretty much why I go see a movie. I want to be able to plop my butt down in a theater, munch some popcorn, and be reasonably entertained for a few hours. If I get to see a really great movie like Iron Man, WALL-E, or Dark Knight in the process, then so much the better.

OK, OK, we get it, guys. Devastator will be big. Like Godzilla-big. A building-sized CGI robot, probably smashing CGI buildings. Geez, got some easily-excited people here....God help us when they get around to doing the gritty, shaky-cam, CGI-driven Power Rangers movie.

Hopefully this movie will retain the right blend of humor and action, and it can string out the spectacle.

If it is shaky cam O rama again, I'll give it a miss.

Get back to proper cinematography, guys!

Sorry that ship has sailed. I hate shakey cam too, it reeks of amateur cinematography... look at me i can't figure out how to film action and make it fast pace without moving the camera every second .

What else do you want from a movie? :)
Sometimes, being entertained for a couple of hours is something great to get out of a movie. I think that if you look over what Hollywood has been offering, actual entertainment is a little hard to come by...
This rebuke of standards immediately brought this to mind:
President To Face Down Monster Attack, Own Demons In Action-Packed Schedule | The Onion - America's Finest News Source

Doesn't that sound like an AWESOME movie? :P

The Constructicons were also the best of the combiners in my opinion (Predacons a close second), because all of their members were roughly the same size (which was possible because they used 2 for the torso, instead of the massive center and then tiny hangers-on of the other sets).

Speaking of Devastator:
