Travel Domain Special Ability

If I am wearing medium or heavy armor, would my speed not be reduced if I had Freedom of Movement active? Would I be subject to armor check penalities?

Dammit - don't tell me that ghouls have a non-magical, non-poison paralysis with no energy type as well!

What are all these monsters doing? Acupuncture?

Well, thanks for the many opinions!

Now I have some clarity about the domain ability. Sometimes you just need a third (fourth/fith/...) opinion to get it right. I guess I'll go with 'needs to be magic' to trigger the freedom of movement effect.

Further I won't allow the travel domain cleric to escape from webs/grapple/ghoul paralysis by having a hold person spell cast upon her to trigger the freedom of movement effect.

Basically the reading that the "Travel" domain power does not protect you from non-magical effects sounds pretty much contrary to the entirety of the domain, e.g its purpose of showing the affiliation of the diety's servant with all forms of movement and unhampered travel.... Magical barriers like "Evard's black tentacles" or "Acid Fog" etc will _not_ hamper the cleric's progress but mundane stuff like mud, undergrowth or wind in the face will ? Wouldn't say so... at least it doesn't feel right.

Sounds...... "rules lawyerly" to me, but well, this is the rules-picking forum after all.
Best ask WotC Customer support if that reading by Scion does actually float...

If I recall correctly, the last time this was discussed two people did send in questions to WotC and both received a different answer. One said that the ability was effective vs grapples while the other said it was not.

Costomer support never seems to be as reliable as EN World message boards. Now if they put out a FAQ or an Errata, that holds more weight since that is generally not from a single person that may have other things on his mind at the time he answers.

It seems to me that if they intended it to function exactly as a Freedom of Action spell, they would have simply stated: "Granted power: The cleric is treated as though contunually under the effect of a Freedom of Action spell."

The verbage limiting it to magical effects was specifically added in.
