This is a bit of a shout out for a Indiegogo crowdfunder for a new version of the Traveller RPG. It’s being produced by 13Mann in conjunction with both FFE and Mongoose.
It’s a beginner level set, but done with full colour production standards and simplified, streamlined rules. The rules are compatable with the existing Mongoose and Classic Traveller rules, and indeed are not so simplistic that they don’t represent a complete game in it’s own right. There is also likely to be maps and deck plans included inside a box.
Basically, if you want to see the original sci-fi rpg alternative to D&D with high production standards and streamlined rules (possibly to go next to your new D&D box set!), then this is the opportunity.
The playtest rules (still open I think, on the 13Mann) and full colour draft layout are available for download, if you want to check them out. And the link to see it all, and the campaign is provided here.
