Traveller (T20) and Cybertech

Very few people know about it in my area. Or at least they didn't until I told them about it. Even then they choked on the 45.00 price tag. The Traveler people are going to have to do something to excite people enough to buy that 45.00 book. Putting out new material on "cool" stuff like cyberware and bio genetic enhancements might be the catalyst they need.

Traveller has been around for a long time. T20 is a d20 conversion of this long-running game.

Unlike Star Wars, it has ship creation rules and world design system.

Staying with tradition, it includes Prior History, meaning you can play experienced PCs.

You have Army, Navy, Marine, and Scouts service classes.

All crammed in 440+ pages of material sandwiched between two hardcovers.

If you like hard sci-fi, or once played Traveller a long time ago, you may like T20.

Personally, I would leave it to another company to be MUCH more stoked about cybertech and give it the treatment that it deserves, and let Traveller do what it's so very good at, and then fuse the two. I think the Traveller folks are wise to leave it alone.

I agree. However, after Quiklink have put out so many products to bring the Traveller Universe into d20, only then can they concentrate on other science fiction element never touched upon by past Traveller products.

Give them time. They just released the Traveller's Handbook. Besides, I don't think Traveller is a cybertech-heavy game.

Seems to be doing pretty well so far. We've sold over 5000 copies since it was released in Oct. We are having to go to a second print run to meet demand.

You beat me to the punch Hunter...

On another note regarding someone's comment about support of the product, might I recommend some of the Traveller's Aide Issues? 3/4 are D20 statted. In addition they are going to also be released in print form (in addition to .pdf). TA 5 is a full length D20 epic from what I understand ;). (www.travellerrpg.com)
